Care & Maintenance
What is Cultured Marble?
Cultured Marble is a man-made material composed of finely crushed natural marble mixed with resin and color pigments. This blend is poured into molds to create smooth, durable surfaces crafted to mimic the rich veining and depth of natural marble.
Cultured marble is often used for showers and bathroom countertops because it delivers the elegant look of natural marble, but with increased durability and easier maintenance. Subtle variations in color and pattern add character and individuality to each piece.
Cultured marble is exceptionally easy to clean. Unlike tile showers, there’s no grout to scrub and maintain—both the shower walls and pan are made from smooth, solid surfaces, making maintenance simple and hassle-free.
How do I care and clean my Cultured Marble?
To keep your cultured marble looking its best, we recommend using non-abrasive cleaners—these help preserve the smooth, glossy surface. Products like Formula 409®, Clorox® Bath Cleaner, or any cleaner labeled non-abrasive work well.
Popular Non-Abrasive Bathroom Cleaners:
- Formula 409® Multi-Surface Cleaner (check label for cultured marble compatibility)
- Clorox® Bathroom Foamer with Bleach
- Scrubbing Bubbles® Bathroom Grime Fighter (non-abrasive and widely used on bathroom surfaces)
- Method® Bathroom Cleaner (plant-based and gentle on surfaces)
- Seventh Generation® Disinfecting Bathroom Cleaner (eco-friendly and non-abrasive)
- Lysol® Bathroom Cleaner Spray (safe for most bathroom surfaces; always check label)
- Windex® Ammonia-Free Multi-Surface Cleaner (good for countertops and walls)
Tip: Always double-check the label to ensure the product is marked safe for cultured marble and is non-abrasive. When in doubt, spot test in a discreet area first.
For added shine, you can occasionally apply a coat of automotive wax—this isn’t required, but it helps maintain that luxurious, polished finish.
As a precaution, we recommend keeping water temperatures below 120°F to help protect the surface and extend the life of your cultured marble.
